A beautiful moon, slipping slowly through the sky and then dropping behind the western hills.
We've watched it set for the last three nights; it is the same glowing orange as the street lights on the hills over there. Quite pretty.
Tried to photograph it, but no go. Too blurry even with long exposures on the tripod. It's the atmosphere I think; mist has rolled over us twice this evening, followed by cool clear skies.
So we opened the French doors and just admired. The close asteroid is passing tonight, moving through the sky in the south about 2.30am, but tis 11.30 and I'm orf to bed...

What does a glowing orange moon mean I wonder? Amazing what damage a hand-sized asteroid can do as it did in Russia! Jude
