Cycled out to Pencarrow last week (bottom of the North Island). Mid week no one around except divers just off the coast and a couple of cyclists on the Remutaka rail trail. Grey day after morning rain, but calm and warm for the cycle and now and then, sunny.
Looking south, back to Wellington.
Kapiti food festival last weekend. Not great weather but what the hell. Big crowd. Drove up to Robynne and Diana's place and the three of us cycled from there. An off road track and we passed the car queue to get in. Go the e-bikes! If I had taken camera...
Came home with goodies and am dispatching all except the gin. That has to wait for summer, which, apparently is on the way. Kawakawa is a native tree with health benefits so this is a local gin that's good for ya. Everyone's making gin and beer.
A packing story.
Packing the bottom shed and saw a broken key on the floor. Aargh! Has that broken off the e-bike's battery lock with the missing bit jammed inside? Major problem. Bad words.
Looked like it might have so came up to house to get spare key out of the safe and compare them. Mummified weta drops out of safe. Key is not the same, yay! Still don't know what it belongs to but the rest of it is jammed in something. Had to have a beer and fancy crackers on deck to celebrate.
