Ta ta work and off for a walk

Left work last week and headed into retirement. Strange word that, doesn't feel like me, that's what our grandparents did. State of mind and all that jazz. I'm calling it repurposing. There will be writing.

To celebrate, went for a long uphill walk in Zealandia on a lovely breezy warm Sunday.






















Birds very active and saw heaps. Once I left the main trails, no one around.

Even saw a couple of tuatara, absolutely still and lurking in the grass. Straight from the age of the dinosaurs - when they looked exactly as they do now.



And some bold North Island robins, interested in the ground I kicked up.



Even saw a rifleman, our smallest bird, pretty rare and recently released into the sanctuary. Never seen one before. And tui, kaka, quail chicks, bellbirds (also uncommon), hihi - really active.
