A rocky windy coastal walk on the weekend, east of the CBD.
There's another seal colony around at Turakirae Head, a couple of kilmetres from the car park. Not many seals there yet, we'll come back for another look later in winter.
This is part of the Rimutaka cycle trail which goes for 100 odd kilometres through fields and vines and an old rail tunnel, along the coast and over the Rimutaka range between Wellington and the Waiarapa.
Beautiful autumn days - warm, and crisp in the morning.
