The national hockey stadium is in Wellington and we saw a great game today - even matched and even tempered and loaded with skills. Final score 2-2. The sun came out and wind dropped and a good time was had by all.
Some random guy sang the Aussie national anthem; he missed the start which was pretty funny. Mish and I sang along to that. Then Diana, Robynne and I sang the NZ anthem in Maori and English (and so covered all bases).
Half time: Mish and Carol, Robynne and Diana (Carol's oldest pal).
NZ girls going in for the kill early (Aussie goalkeeper about to throw herself on the ground to save this shot). My how the rules have changed since we played at high school; it's a faster, more robust game, sticks in the air, lots of high flicks, and the ball and players just keep moving.
