A bit rainy but not too bad - our national day off to commemorate the 1840 signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. We got out the rain jackets and drove over to Percy Scenic Reserve for an amble through the bush and up to a pleasantly tumbling 10m waterfall.
Then down to Petone for brunch and out to the mouth of the Hutt River for a spot of tennis. Or so we thought. I'd found a court tucked away in an industrial area: net up and no one around. Wellington has a few free courts dotted around town. So on we went, our first hit in...gee, a couple of years. And just as we were winding to actually have a rally, bung goes Carol's knee.
Limped off and came home to a nice cup of tea and an ice pack. (All good, physio says minor damage and I'm no longer limping, phew.) No tennis for a week, but that court is a great find. We'll be back.
Now, if only we had some summery weather.
