Walked to one of the local schools to vote - in the rain. Waited for a break in the weather but didn't get one so we decided to head off anyway, across the soggy park and down to the Raumati shops.
Plenty of activity at the polling booth. It's one of the joys of a democracy to vote on the actual day. Tied Plum up to a railing outside and headed in to queue with other damp people. A minute later Plum arrives in the big busy school hall, with a smiling official in pursuit. Honestly, that dog. She sat quietly beside me while I marked the form - the model dog - and off we went, outside to wait for Mish.
