Rain stops and a little bit of planting restarts

We're underway with the new veg boxes. Green crop on the right and broad beans on the left. The first gabion wire boxes are plonked behind, we made half of them yesterday. They'll line the driveway in the area shown here. 10 bespoke boxes of varying sizes according to the Mish measurement system of getting them EXACTLY right for the space.

Green crop is growing well, despite sparrows tucking into the seed before Mish covered it. Will dig that crop into the veg box in about a month.

Looking back at the messy yard, the concrete pile on the left is going into the gabions. Most of it has come from concrete paths around the house. Sunflowers in the middle have done their dash and the sparrows have taken all the seeds. We'll mulch the stalks once we get our mulcher back from the repair shop next week - we jammed it good and proper a few days ago and couldn't free the chunk of wood stuck in the blades. Oops.

While I was faffing with the broad beans, Mish was planting two small camelia trees around the back. Her plan is they will grow and be part of the green circle around the back. That dog better not be chewing the irrigation hose which is right there.
