Happy New Year!

Already half way through January...how does that happen? We spent a few days in Sydney and the highlands over Christmas New Year and then Bob's your uncle, back at work.

Temps here are much more civilised, in the low 20s. Today was calm and warm and we had a brilliant steak 'n' onions dinner on the deck, with luscious green beans a la Rita. (Steamed, cooled, tossed in a little sesame oil and then sprinkled with sesame seeds - yumbo.)

Then, full of iron, we headed into Oriental Bay in the city, with loads of other perambulators, joggers and hopeful fisher folk. A lovely evening stroll with ice cream.

An oyster catcher slumming it in the baby mussels. Plenty of fish in the harbour, and stingrays chasing them around.

Looking north from Oriental Bay, across the harbour back to our place.

One of the many harbour users this evening, on his home made bike kayak.

And back home about 9pm.
Looking southwest to Mt Kaukau. We're getting some great sunsets lately.

  1. Happy New Year to you too! Now that's a new way to kayak or cycle on water - creative or crazy. Jude
