New Year's Eve

And boy is the weather lousy here. We are in the clouds again, with strong southerlies, steady rain and about 14 degrees. Vegetables aren't happy in their battered boxes. Poor little buggers. No fireworks in Wellington tonight.

Mish flew in at midnight last night, looking very miserable, not the cheery face I'm used to meeting. She has a bad cold and has basically been asleep ever since then. It's now 3.30 next day. So I'm twiddling my thumbs, waiting for her to smarten up, and amusing myself making tablet (Scottish fudge) and broad bean fritters.

We had several brilliant days over Christmas - too hot actually - and today I've got the heaters on. Mad. It is a test for the living room south facing windows that we had the builders seal several weeks ago. And they're passing, no cold drafts getting in there.

So, here we are, the end of 2011. What a big year we've had; change, move, change, pack, unpack, pack, unpack.  Buffalo gals go round the outside. Upheaval, joy, sadness. Big year.

Roll on 2012!
